Tertiary Well Evaluations
Well and Aquifer Evaluation Services
WESTON has been providing well and aquifer-related consultant services for over 30 years. Because of our expertise as an engineering/contracting firm, we are uniquely qualified to conduct turn-key drilling and testing of water wells in addition to evaluations of existing water supply wells. Our staff is qualified to complete the entire aquifer and well evaluation process beginning with a hydrogeologic evaluation and ending with sufficient concrete information about the well to make an informed decision regarding the condition and capacity of the well. WESTON’s Well Evaluation Team, which consists of professional geologists, an engineer, and a rig crew, is able to move on-site and evaluate the data from a well as it is generated in a sequential process that allows for real-time and confident decision-making in the field. Our services include: comprehensive records review and interpretation, video logging, bond logging interpretation, long and short-term pump testing, water quality sampling, pump evaluations, and other services as needed. We are equipped with large capacity pumps and generators that allow us to conduct pump tests on high production wells. Additionally, we have the supporting equipment, such as pump pulling units, discharge piping, and meters. As a contractor we have the ability to conduct the assessment process while minimizing interruptions to water service. We also have the ability to rehabilitate a well as part of an evaluation to minimize service interruptions. Rehabilitation services include brushing the inside of the well casing and screens, well redevelopment, installation of airlines, short term pump testing, and reconfiguration of wellhead plumbing to comply with DEQ and State electrical code requirements. We also provide recommendations for pumping operation strategies to maximize the efficient operation of a wellfield.
Gillette Area Well Evaluation Projects
WESTON has performed well evaluation services for a wide variety of water supply wells completed in the Wasatch and Fort Union Formations in the Gillette area. As a subcontractor for the Gillette Connections I and 2 Level II projects, WESTON provided well evaluation services for the Bennor Estates, and Antelope Valley, Antelope Valley Business Park, Peoples, South Fork Estates, and Freedom Hills wells. WESTON is currently providing ongoing subcontracting services to DOWL-HKM to evaluate the Mount Pisgah Cemetery wells and to help determine an optimal operation strategy to maximize use of the existing water rights owned by the cemetery district. In addition, WESTON conducted well rehabilitation services on the Bennor Estates wells in an attempt to reduce radionuclides.
Means Well No. 4
WESTON drilled and tested Means Well No. 4 during the summer of 2011. WESTON provided all services for the project, including drilling contracting and pump testing services as well as permitting, engineering design and hydrogeologic analysis of pump test data and water quality sampling and analysis.
